Description

China’s Most Celebrated Green Tea

Xi Hu Long Jing (Dragon Well) is widely regarded as the most famous Chinese green tea and proudly holds the title of one of the Ten Famous Teas of China. Produced exclusively within the protected tea gardens surrounding West Lake (Xi Hu) in Zhejiang Province, authentic Long Jing is renowned for its elegant character, refined sweetness, and remarkable craftsmanship.

Our Spring 2026 harvest is made from carefully hand-picked young buds and tender leaves, harvested at the peak of freshness. Every leaf is traditionally pan-fired to create the tea’s signature flat, smooth appearance while preserving its vibrant aroma and naturally sweet flavor.

Appearance and tasting notes

The dry leaves are beautifully flat, smooth, and uniform, measuring approximately two centimeters in length. Their vibrant jade-green color is complemented by delicate cream-colored tea hairs, a sign of high-quality early spring harvest.

The aroma is fresh and elegant, combining spring flowers with subtle fruit notes, roasted chestnuts, and freshly steamed greens.

The infusion is crystal clear with a bright yellow-green hue. The liquor is silky, clean, and beautifully balanced, revealing notes of sweet chestnuts, fresh vegetables, spring flowers, buttered beans, and gentle orchid-like florals. Natural sweetness develops with every infusion, leaving a long, refreshing finish with delicate mineral undertones.

Character and Experience

Xi Hu Long Jing is celebrated not only for its extraordinary flavor but also for the calm clarity it brings. Its refreshing yet balanced character gently awakens the mind, improves concentration, and promotes a sense of harmony without overwhelming stimulation.

This is a tea to enjoy slowly throughout the day. Its exceptionally smooth texture and naturally sweet finish make every cup inviting, encouraging long, relaxed tea sessions. An excellent choice for both experienced tea enthusiasts and those discovering premium Chinese green tea for the first time.
